When: June 15-16, 2012

Cost: $200.00 fee for conference (if you are Board certified, ABN, ABCN, or ABPdN, 25.00 dollar
discount).  Students are $10.00!!

The workshop will be at the Orange County Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association (Thanks to
Patty Mouton for her kindness in letting us use the Conference Room).  The Alzheimer's
association will be making a  10 minute presentation during the lunch hour.  

CE: 12 hrs CE Credit through ACPN for APA approved CE credit.  

Two 6-hour courses will be offered for twelve (12) continuing education (CE) credits. No partial
credit will be offered since each attendee will be required to attend the entirety of the full
workshop to receive CE credit. The American College of Professional Neuropsychology (ACPN)
is approved by the APA to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. ACPN maintains
responsibility for this program and its content.

Schedule:

Day 1:  Basic Software Operation
Morning: Basic Program operation.  We will cover all the software features and options. (9:00
am - 12:00 pm)
Lunch: 1 hr (12:00-1:00)
Afternoon:  How to customize your report generator.  This will be a hands on, (bring your laptop)
process.  Each participant will bring their own report (I printout and electronic) and we will put
your report into the report generator.  When the afternoon is finished, each participant will have
a customized report in the report generator.   (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

Workshop Objectives: Basic Workshop
1.  Each participant will understand correct test administration.
2.  Each participant will understand correct data entry procedures.
3.  Each participant will understand the psychometrics associated with the MNB.

Evening: informal dinner and discussion on what future features to be added, and get to know
each other.    More details on the dinner will be forthcoming.  


Day 2:  Advanced Clinical Interpretation
Morning:  Advanced interpretation workshop examining the interpretive features of the program.  
Pattern analysis, RIM model, effect size and power analysis and the artificial Intelligence built in
to the software will all be discussed. (9:00 am - 12:00 pm)
Lunch: 1 hr (12:00-1:00)
Afternoon:  We will play “Stump the Chump”.  Clinical Cases submitted in advance by workshop
participants will be “cold” interpreted by Dr. Meyers and workshop members.  We will work our
way through as many cases as time permits.  This will be an interactive “hands on”
interpretative process. (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

Workshop Objectives:  Advanced Workshop:
1.  Each participant will understand basic hypothesis testing as an interpretive method.
2.  Each participant will understand the use of the comparison graphs, regression equations,
discriminant functions and Neural Networks
3.  Each participant will be able to customize their report generator.  



Brief Bio of the Presenter

John Meyers is the creator of the Meyers Neuropsychological Battery (MNB) and the Meyers
Neuropsychological System.  He holds board certifications in Neuropsychology from ABN and
ABPdN.  He has authored many published articles and book chapters in the area of
neuropsychology, test development and interpretation.  Dr. Meyers has worked in a variety of
settings including hospital rehabilitation, and outpatient settings.  He has evaluated more than
8000 patients with a practice history that has spanned 20 years of clinical practice.  The MNB
was developed in response to clinical and practice needs.  The MNB has a well developed
history of published research on the battery including reliability and validity and shows a very
good clinical utility.
